Dunkle Wolken ziehen auf über den internationalen Gewässern des Internets.
Da SOPA (aka "Stop the Internet Act") und Konsorten andernorts schon ausführlich genug erklärt werden, will ich hier nicht näher darauf eingehen, bevor ich noch unwissentlich geistiges Eigentum kopiere.
Denn wenn auch der Begriff "Piraterie" schon immer falsch gewählt war, naht die Gefahr, dass beinahe jeder Surfer bald zum Piraten erklärt wird, auch hierzulande. Wie man gewissen Leuten immer wieder erklären zu müssen scheint, gibt es eine Grenze, die Sicherheit von Freiheitsraub trennt. Und SOPA geht dabei nicht nur einen Schritt zu weit, sondern legt Entfernungen jenseits von Gut und Böse in die falsche Richtung zurück. Und wieso scheint es niemand der Beteiligten zu merken? Richtig: Weil wahrscheinlich niemand von ihnen einen Computer von einem Backstein unterscheiden könnte.
Und so wird frei nach dem Motto "Internet? Gibt's diesen Blödsinn immer noch?" kurzerhand alles totbeschränkt, das auch nur einen Punkt in der URL kopiert (für die SOPA-Unterstützer: die URL ist der lustige kleine Schriftzug in eurem Internet Explorer, der für euch etwa so aussehen dürfte: "www.dasdingändertsichimmerwennichgoogleergebnisseanklicke.de/kauderwelsch/").
Neuesten Informationen zufolge sollen Betriebssysteme in Zukunft außerdem ebenfalls ohne Kopierfunktion erscheinen.

Aber kurze Rede, kurzer Sinn: Wer sich mit Piraten anlegt, sollte jederzeit damit rechnen, kielgeholt zu werden.

In diesem Sinne schließe ich als zukünftiger Pirat mit den Worten: Mast- und Schotbruch, Landratten!

so I won't do that here, for I could end up copying someone's intellectual property.
Though the expression "piracy" was chosen badly, the danger of every surfer being declared one is approaching. One cannot seem to have to tell some people often enough that there is a line between safety and liberty theft. And SOPA does not just cross this line, it takes gigantic steps in the wrong direction. And why do all of the proponents seem to ignore that? Right: Because none of them could tell the difference between a computer and a brick.
And thus, strictly following the motto "Internet? Is this thing still around?",
they just restrict everything to death, that does only so much as to copy a dot
from a url (for all the SOPA supporters: the url is this funny little text line
in the top of your Internet Explorer, which probably reads to you as follows:
"www.thisthingchangeseverytimeiclickonagoogleresult.com/callacryptologist/")
Brand new intel says that the operating systems of the future will all come without a copy function, too.
But short story short: Those, who mess with pirates, should always be aware, that
there is quite a chance of getting keelhauled. Just to put that out there.
